Summer internships are offered at both private and government founded universities, laboratories, and institutions.

Research Experiences for Undergraduates (or REUs) are competitive summer research programs for undergraduates studying science, engineering, or mathematics. Generally,  Generally, REUs  provide stipends (~ $4,000–$6,000 for 10 weeks of work), housing, transportation to and from the site, and often arrangements for food.
